Blake's 7 Comic: 1. "Revolt", thus far

"Revolt" is the first episode of the fifth Blake's 7 season, one that is totally of my own invention. It exists because of persisting rumours about a possible new series, which will probably be horrible. This is how I would love to see it the most. It's dirty, underhanded and not overtly joyful, the sordid and nihilistic romp that is, at least to me, Blake's 7. The earlier links to the pages do not display at the correct size because of Blogger's pathetic handicaps. I am therefore providing direct links, so the pages can be downloaded. Read them with the aid of an image viewer with adequate zooming facilities, because the author thought it'd be interesting to produce them on really big pages, like TV21 used to do. Ambulant Fungus

A brief cut-out animation exercise. Students were supposed to invent an improbable creature through an arrangement of shapes, and then animate it. This was my result.

Motion Graphics: The Letter 'H'

The results of a recent assignment for Motion Graphics class. Each student received a letter or symbol, and had to produce a loopable clip of about 6 seconds which introduced said symbol or letter.

We had about four weeks. After three weeks of work my initial idea was torpedoed, thus resulting in this unwanted baby, made in about an hour the night before the assignment was due.

It only makes sense in Dutch. A fence is called 'hek' in dutch, so, that's why.

Ballie?

This short Stop Motion animation about a disoriented lump of clay was made by me and some fellow students last year, as part of an academy-wide project centered on the International Rotterdam Film Festival. If you are wondering how that and this piece of film are related, don't. They're not. They'll buy anything at an art academy if you use enough adjectives and a little evasion.

The Science Fiction television series known as Blake's 7 is not well remembered and ridiculed by most who do remember it because of the occasionally shaky acting and scripting, the ambitious costumes and the largely sub-par special effects. A select few, however, including me, considers these arguments feeble and ignominious, and passionately loves the morally ambiguous and dangerous stories and characters, the hopeless dystopian environment and the fantastic design of the rebel band's advanced alien space cruiser, the Liberator.

I love special effects on a budget because the lack of funds seems to force some measure of creativity, and Blake's 7 is no exception. Blake's 7 was and is rife with plenty of fantastic guest models, and recently I took to speedmodeling the Fiat Panda of the Blake Universe: The Spacemaster.

This end result was achieved in little over an hour. Hardly a feat as the design is simple, but I'm mentioning it anyway.
